Curvaceous actress Omuhle Gela has confirmed that she will be
"hooking up" with a new man in the third season of the e.tv drama series
Umlilo
However, Gela didn't want to reveal the name of the new man in the
life of her character Andile Simelane, saying it would "jeopardise the
story-line and the surprise element" among the viewers. But Sunday World can reveal that her new flame is Sobantu Nqayi, a member of the new cast, portraying Zuko Ntuli, a 30-year-old lecturer.
Nqayi plays an astute sociology lecturer, a defender of traditional and rural ways even though he's from Joburg, but he is also a heartbreaker and player of note.
"I can only speak about Andile having ditched drugs, making a total 360° of her life. She realises that she is growing and needs to change her ways and become responsible," says Gela.
"Andile wants to better her life and has a new love interest, who is fairly close to the cast, unfortunately that is the only thing I can say at the moment.
"Umlilo is the only project I'm busy with at the moment besides my fashion design business. It's been hectic because shooting has been taking all my time. We've been shooting from Monday to Sunday, that's seven days a week, hey!"
Gela (25), says this past summer saw her new swimsuit range for voluptuous women selling like hot vetkoeks.
"The range was so popular it was sold out by January this year, I'm happy with how things are panning out on the fashion side of things.
"I will be releasing my next summer and winter ranges towards the end of the year. The designs will be different - with more body covering, stuff that is easily wearable."
Umlilo's new star-studded cast includes the sexy Khanyi Mbau, who will be playing the role of Palesa Tladi, the state prosecutor on a mission to put Thembi behind bars.
Mzwandile Ngubeni plays Vuyo, Thembi's arrogant and charming lawyer, while Matthew Monika plays Edward, the judge and Vuyo's father.
Actor and director Phumello Nkosi joins the show as Mnqobi's cousin and right-hand man, Mthandeni Simelane.
